Market: Managua win
Odds:
Once again turning our attention to the midweek Nicaraguan Premier League fixtures, league leaders and defending champions Managua will be looking to extend their buffer at the top of the table when they host Jalapa in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Starting with the hosts, picking up a 1-0 win away at strugglers Las Sabanas over the weekend and capitalizing on Real Estelí s recent slip-ups, Managua certainly find the mood in their camp at a continued high. Now holding a five-point buffer at the top of the Premier League and in pole position to lift back-to-back titles, Los Leones Azules also find themselves in the midst of what has been an eye-catching 11-match unbeaten run across all competitions. Unbeaten in the Nicaraguan top-flight since the 2nd of March, there is no doubt that Head Coach Emilio Aburto will be growing more pleased by his side s continued performances on home soil. Including a 2-1 win against Deportivo Ocotal earlier in the month, Managua have won nine of their last 10 matchups in front of their own supporters and are unbeaten at home since September 2019.
As for the visitors, playing out a 0-0 stalemate against fellow strugglers Las Sabanas over the weekend, Jalapa have continued on what has been a worrying rut. Falling down the Premier League standings, the Yellow and Greens have failed to win any of their last three appearances on the bounce and have continued to show some real problems in the final third. Drawing another blank late on Saturday night, Jalapa have now failed to find the net in over 300 minutes of action, their worst attacking run since opening the New Year. Along with their continued issues outside of Ocotal, Jalapa also hold a worrying record against Thursday s hosts. Including a 4-1 hammering the last time they made the trip to Managua, Leónidas Rodríguez s men have failed to win any of their last seven matchups against the reigning champions.
Bet: Managua 1/2 to beat Jalapa in Thursday s Nicaraguan Premier League contest
